Founded by winemaker Alex Pomerantz and two wine-loving friends,Subject To Change continues to be an ambassador for California growers in under-represented regions that are otherwise proving to be great sources of quality organic grapes.
The Poor Ranch in the east hills of Hopland in Mendocino County is one such source, despite a history of grape growing by the same family dating back to the late 1800's. Head trained and dry farmed, the vineyard is planted to Carignan,Grenache,Petite Sirah, and the Syrah/Zinfandel used for the unique 'Moon Juice' blend.
Following one month of separate carbonic macerations, whole clusters are pressed into stainless steel for remaining fermentation and eventually racked together prior to four additional months in the same type of vessel. Unfined, unfiltered, and without the addition of S02,every ounce of flavor is on full display in what's sure to be one of the most drinkable wines from the 2018 vintage.

"We believe in old world style with fresh appeal starting with exceptionally farmed organic grapes. In the cellar we add nothing to the wine - no added sulphur, commercial yeasts, nada. This style of winemaking is often called Zero Zero today."- Subject to Change Wine Co.
